EXPORTS surged to a record monthly high in July, the latest official data shows.
Exports came to almost €7.9bn -- an 8pc increase in the month -- when seasonal factors are taken into account. With imports down 1pc, the trade surplus set a monthly record of €4.4bn.
Monthly trade figures are volatile. On a more reliable six-month basis, exports this year were 1pc down on January-June last year.
