Heidi Klum donned prosthetics and a walking stick as her rather controversial costume choice last Halloween. It was a bit unexpected to have the beautiful model dress up as an old woman, but apparently liver spots and varicose veins are very scary.

When Ivan Yates recently did a piece on the age of our Cabinet, he talked about Ruairi Quinn who is 68 and Pat Rabbitte who will be 65 this year. He also made a reference to Joan Burton, who is never ordinarily mentioned in this context, who will turn 65 on February 1, which would be the official retirement age had the Government not raised it to 66 recently.

We have a policy of being kind to well-known female figures, at least in public.
