PAT Kenny continues to provide calm and lucid guidance during our economic crisis, especially during his chairmanship of The Frontline programme last week. This made for excruciating viewing, as a cabinet minister squared off against a future cabinet minister before a live studio audience.
There were several bizarre moments during the debate, which allowed viewers to test the quality and resilience of the Irish national argument.
In a fairly extravagant descent into personal ridicule, one member of the audience asked the Minister for Defence, Tony Killeen, to name Article 7 of the Fianna Fail constitution, assuming that party political documents are like the pass cards that black South Africans had to have on their person at all times during the Eighties.
