Tom Brady: Concern Dublin is target for potential back-door route for illegal immigrants into UK
Gardaí are satisfied there was no terrorist or human-trafficking link to the international smuggling operation they smashed at Dublin Airport over the weekend. But they are very concerned that Dublin is being targeted by a global crime network as a potential back-door route for illegal immigrants into the UK.
The extent of the smuggling operation has not yet been determined as the Garda investigation is in the early stages.
Last night, inquiries were being carried out in at least five countries as a result of the three arrests, including two Aer Lingus employees on the ground staff at the airport.
