IVOR Callely tells us that the mystery surrounding his travel expenses has nothing to do with fiddling and everything to do with perception. Or, in his case, a massive public misperception about where he lives.
He explained to a committee investigating his expenses claims yesterday that he makes himself visible and does not hide when in Dublin, but can also be seen walking his dog in west Cork.
If people would only open their eyes and see things as they really are, they would understand how a Dublin politician, who has lived all his life and owns a house and a constituency office in the capital, could be resident in Cork for expenses purposes.
