They're off by planes, trains but definitely no limos

And so the Great Escape is under way, with almost two dozen members of the Government boarding planes, trains (but no limousine-style automobiles, no sirree) this weekend to fly the green flag in various near and far-flung cities.
Although the Taoiseach was not the first through the tunnel (that dubious honour goes to the Cabinet's own Phineas Fogg, Mary Harney), he was probably one of the happiest escapees as he left yesterday morning for an action-packed six-day, three-city trip to the US.
His schedule includes two days in Chicago, two days in San Jose -- for a blitzkreig on Silicon Valley -- and two days in Washington DC selling Brand Ireland.
