Teens will have been inspired – but message for adults, too

US President Barack Obama's powerful speech on peace-building will serve as a wake-up call for Sinn Fein and the DUP.

Even though there was a carnival atmosphere in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast – with Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams and the DUP's Sammy Wilson taking part in a pre-speech Mexican wave – Mr Obama's speech was a reminder that the two parties in power have not delivered enough on the promise of the Good Friday Agreement.

Mr Obama did not step off Air Force One and deliver a diktat about what should be done.
