Surviving Irish elite still gracing the UK rich lists
Some hardy Irish annuals continue to feature among the super rich despite the downturn, writes Ronald Quinlan

PROPERTY. These days, it's nearly a dirty word in Ireland, given the singular role it has played in the destruction of our economy.
But while the Irish property bubble might have burst, there are still plenty of Irish millionaires who derive their fortunes from bricks and mortar. Indeed, no less than 31 Irish business figures feature on the 2010 Estates Gazette Rich List, which details the fortunes of the UK's super-rich property moguls.
According to the list, which has just been published, this surviving elite of Irish High Net Worth Individuals account for a cool €5.4bn of the €85bn total in commercial and real estate assets owned by the UK's top 250 developers and investors.
