Put to a referendum, a vote for Dunphy for President would be like a walk in the Park, writes Declan Lynch

It's just a hunch. In fact, it was a week after I watched Eamon Dunphy being interviewed by Ursula Halligan on TV3 in mid-January that this thought popped into my head: he wants to run for President.
Maybe it was the finely structured narrative which had unfolded -- the journey "from rags to riches", as TV3 put it.
Maybe it was his odd decision to talk in a vaguely confessional way about his wild years -- to "park" the issue, as they say -- and to talk about the terrible dangers which await the man who discovers rock'n'roll at the age of 51, not 15 as is usually recommended.
