The 'storming of the Dail' was done by people out of touch with an economic tide that is beginning to turn, writes Jody Corcoran

It was the week that shook the world, or our wee part of it anyway. Well, sort of . . . The riot appeared -- for a moment -- on Sky News, after all, the news outlet that would play on a loop anything that might appear dramatic.

Breaking news then, flashed red in shock: the Houses of Parliament -- or the Oireachtas as we call it -- were being stormed by a public who just could not take it anymore.

The breaching of the guard at Leinster House should not be underestimated: the first phase of the Bolshevik revolution was followed by a second.
