Sinead Moriarty: Why binning €1,000 a year should give us food for thought
LAST January after the excesses of the Christmas holidays, where my staple diet consisted of turkey and stuffing sandwiches followed by boxes of Quality Street, I promised myself that, come January, I would only buy and eat healthy, organically grown produce.
I found a company that delivered said healthy organically grown fruit and vegetables to my door. What could be better or easier? I was doing the planet a service and my unhealthy body would benefit from all these natural ingredients.
I was delighted with myself and looked forward to nutritious meals that would give me glowing skin, bright eyes and bundles of energy.
