SEX and cash are primed to explode into scandals in any election but this week the current presidential campaign has got down and dirty by following the money.

Over the past few days the public has witnessed an extraordinary outpouring of some candidates' most intimate financial secrets.

It is a level of disclosure that some aspiring presidents believe is prurient and intrusive but dare not say so for fear of inviting even closer scrutiny.
