BY the time you read this, Senator Ivor Callely should be helping the gardai with their enquiries into the latest set of allegations made against him.

Detectives ought to be questioning him about the allegedly forged invoices used to secure €3,000 in expenses payments from the State for his four mobile phones.

It is a very serious allegation made against a career politician who was a TD and a minister of state before he was appointed to the Seanad.
