THE Catholic Church requires a bishop and 12 priests to excommunicate a particularly grievous sinner but Fianna Fail has its national executive.
Its bell, book and candle ritual requires the 15 members to simply pass a motion -- then somebody is declared a nobody and passes swiftly into the dustbin of history.
That is the future mapped out for Ivor Callely, although lawyers will supervise due process, so that the disgraced senator cannot claim martyr status.
