Receiving culture trumps the creative for our well-being
While all culture is good for our health, those that focus on just the 'doing' are missing out, writes Emer O'Kelly
DID you know that men may very well be more religious than women? And that parish work is culture? Such would seem to be the case according to at least one finding in a newly published survey called the HUNT study.
And while it's possible to prove pretty well anything by using statistics selectively, the fact remains that the study found that "participation in parish work was significantly associated with good/very good health" for men, while for women the association was achieved by "club meetings, music, singing, theatre, outdoor activities, dance and working out/sport". So there.
And folks, culture is good for your health, according to this HUNT study.
