Quick and easy steps can be taken to boost national spirit

AT a time like this, when nerves are frayed and bond markets are having the jitters, it is worth remembering Kipling's lines, often quoted by CJ Haughey: "If you can keep your head, when all about you are losing theirs, and blaming it on you, then you are a man, my son."

Too many of us are behaving as if the end of the world has come. It hasn't. Life will go on. And it will be worth living.

We never thought we'd have to understand concepts like Nama down here in Ventry, but that body has done a lot to help us discover exactly where we are financially in this country.
