But, of course, the media wouldn't budge. They wanted to know what the People's Prince thought of his latest coronation in the polls.
For according to Thursday's TV3 poll, the Finance Minister is the winner by a distance in the race to succeed Brian Cowen as the High King of Fianna Fail. (Not that the race is actually under way, of course, as there is a marked reluctance among the possible runners and riders to kick off the stampede by agreeing to be the stalking-horse).
