AN indescribably bleak, sad and tragic day that will be etched in our memory for decades to come -- that is how November 16, 2010 will be remembered.

Just when society thinks it can no longer be shocked, a tragedy erupts that is as frightening as it is incomprehensible.

The events that occurred in counties Cork and Limerick yesterday have painfully sucked us from the narrow tunnel of our financial concerns and refocused us on the excruciating sadness in our midst.
