On road to recovery thanks to a steady hand
What Brian Cowen lacks in charisma he more than makes up for in dedication to the job of rescuing us, says Jody Corcoran
This time last year the speculation was that the Government would fall within weeks and that Brian Cowen would be out of a job, that of Taoiseach, with little fanfare, other than a General Election.
This year, speculation about the imminent fall of the Government is not quite so intense, although it remains ever present, with the arithmetic getting tight.
I am more confident than not that the Government will run its course and that Cowen will lead Fianna Fail into an election in 2012, when anything could happen, it being two years away.
