EAMONN Lillis flinched momentarily, a peculiar expression flashing across his face as a pair of his underpants were held aloft in court for inspection.
The striped boxer shorts were amongst the clothes he had been wearing the day of his wife's death, along with a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey T-shirt and green combat trousers, taken away by gardai as part of the investigation into Celine Cawley's death.
Mr Lillis had worn the outfit, together with a pair of brown walking shoes and white socks, also taken from the evidence bag and shown to the court.
