Nicola Anderson: Misdirected anger holds ordinary workers to ransom
THE return from the Dail after the summer recess, the return of the protest season. There can hardly be a person in the country – other than bankers and politicians – who do not support those who turn out to protest against measures that have hit the most vulnerable in our society.
Even many of the gardai yesterday manning the city centre protests were privately supportive of some of the grievances being aired.
However, protesters went a step too far yesterday by taking their anger from outside the Dail and, without warning, spilling on to the city streets at large.
