Nicola Anderson: Kenny seals deal on a day of pomp and ceremony
THERE was no military display, no brass band and no rolling out of plush red carpet -- and yet it was remarkable how an important sense of pomp and ceremony could be conjured up simply by the mood and attitude of the people in the room.
This was not the first time that Enda Kenny had met the President -- of course not. But as the holders of the two highest positions in the land met at Aras an Uachtarain yesterday, there was no denying the Taoiseach "Designate" was discernably nervous.
This was a constitutional ritual and therefore, a big deal.
