Nicholas Leonard: Brown has a new crisis for every day of the week

Gordon Brown's diary secretary will have no problem allocating a different crisis for him to deal with each day this week, starting today when he meets Taoiseach Brian Cowen at Downing Street.
It's a reflection of the depth of the problems facing the prime minister elsewhere that tackling the impasse at Stormont looks like the least arduous of the challenges on his agenda.
It is certainly an easier situation to understand than the complex tensions within Afghanistan, whose president, Hamid Karzai, will be in London on Thursday.
