My Take on the Troika - Laura Gaynor


"I didn't notice an immediate change in my day-to-day life after the Troika had come because we had already been feeling the pinch of the recession for two years, but there's no doubt that the hardship it's brought had an effect on many people, especially students.

"I know of people who have had to leave university for financial reasons – and that's a very worrying development, especially for our future. That said, one of the things the recession has done is to make us students work that bit harder so we'll be better placed to get jobs when we finish."
