Ministers will like their report card but a lot depends on bank debt deal

IF government ministers had written what they wanted on a note and pushed it up the chimney, they could not have asked for better from yesterday's report from the IMF.
With one exception. Perhaps surprisingly, the IMF dips into the hottest current issue in domestic economic politics - whether the Budget did enough to protect the less well-off.
The IMF thinks it did not, saying there should have been more measures to protect low-income groups.
