Michael Brennan : Getting suspended may be the least of Callely's woes

It's rarely a good idea to deliberately miss a phone call. But when the person is ringing on behalf of the Taoiseach, it's definitely not a good idea.
Perhaps Senator Ivor Callely has a legitimate reason for not returning phone calls from senior Fianna Fail officials, who had been instructed to do so by Taoiseach Brian Cowen. But it did not help his case -- and he now stands suspended from Fianna Fail.
Mr Callely is not the first Munster-based politician to find himself in an expenses-related controversy at the height of summer.
