Mauritius is a colourful island where people are friendly and warm -- but the violent death of Michaela Harte shook them to the core.
The realisation that someone murdered a tourist on their holiday paradise is too much for many to bear.
The people here find it hard to believe that one of their own could have been so cruel. Although gossip, rumour and innuendo are rife on the island, what is known is that on January 10 last, the stunning 27-year-old daughter of Tyrone football manager Mickey Harte had been enjoying lunch with new husband -- Down GAA player John McAreavey -- in her hotel restaurant when she left the table to go back to the couple's honeymoon suite.
