THERE is simply no getting away from it. Even in deepest France, Ireland is big news for all the wrong reasons. The banner headline on Saturday's 'Le Monde' trumpets La Crise Irlandaise as dominating the G20 summit in Seoul.
The local regional paper, more modestly on an inside page, declares that the escalating Irish debt and banks in freefall bring more than a whiff of the Greek crisis, and predicts that Ireland cannot survive without help beyond the middle of the year.
There is a snigger too at an opposition jibe in the Dail about the last days of the Roman Empire, in a piece illustrated by a picture of a woman begging on a Dublin street.
