TOMORROW is the day of decision for the transfer of powers relating to policing and criminal justice to the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Then there will be a motion requiring cross-community support (that is a majority in both camps) to request the secretary of state to set in train the sequence of events that will activate the transfer.

Also due to be published is the report of the joint working-party between Sinn Fein and DUP to recommend procedures for dealing with the contentious issue of disputed parades.
