Maurice Hayes: No victory lap for Mo but her heroics will not be forgotten

A HAPPY quirk of scheduling caused a biopic of Mo Mowlam to be screened on the Sunday evening in the middle of the negotiations at Hillsborough, and just when they seemed to be poised between success and failure.
'Mo' was a wonderfully fascinating, moving, and, at times, sad recreation of the character and personality of Mo Mowlam during her period as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
At another level it could be read as a description, and as an analysis of THE talks leading up to the Good Friday Agreement a dozen years earlier.
