IF someone had told me six months ago that John Delaney and Roy Keane would bury the hatchet, the immediate thought that would have sprung to mind was: "Yes, in the back of each other's heads."

But now, for the greater good, the two men – whose enmity had all the vinegar of the great sporting feuds like O'Sullivan and Gatland, Tiger and Sergio and Ali and Frazier – appear to have reached some kind of accord.

And they appear to have done it without getting the UN in as peace brokers.
