THE Taoiseach had a slightly wistful expression on his face as he listened to Eamon Gilmore doing his best Hercule Poirot impression during Leaders' Questions in the Dail yesterday afternoon.
After all, Brian had departed the Asia-Europe powwow in Brussels in a screech of burning rubber from the wheels of the government jet in order to make it back in time for the question session.
He could've stayed longer at the summit, hobnobbing with the bigwigs such as China's premier Wen Jiabao (who's a handy pal to have in the corner as he's in charge of one of the dispiriting number of countries left with a few spare quid stashed under the mattress), or enjoying a leisurely lunch in a chic Euro-trough.
