OH the irony of it. After a torrid week of inept ambushes, guerrilla tactics, in-fighting, heaves, evasive manoeuvres, stealth attacks and robust confrontations, where do two of Bruton's Bombers end up yesterday?

In the offices of Co-operation Ireland in Belfast with Enda, that's where.

Two of Fine Gael's prodigal sons, Dublin South-West TD Brian Hayes and Louth deputy Fergus O'Dowd, were among a select posse who accompanied their Lazarus-like leader on a jaunt to Stormont for a series of whistle-stop meetings with the main shakers and movers of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
