THEY came slowly over the crest of the road, the silence of their approach broken only by the solemn tolling of a lone church bell.

In an unprecedented show of harmony, men and women of Ireland's 32 counties stepped over the sectarian divide.

They walked side-by-side, shoulder-to-shoulder, GAA jersey-to-PSNI uniform, red and green side by side.
