Lise Hand: Even warrior Joe showing signs of fatigue as clock ticks on marathon

The clock is ticking and the final countdown is on. The finish line is finally within sight and as it enters the last lap, this marathon campaign has become an increasingly tighter race between the Yes and No teams.

And legs are weary on both sides. Wrangling over the referendum seems to have been going on since the 12 days of Christmas, and the one thing that the opposing camps are quietly in agreement on is that tomorrow's polling day can't come fast enough.

Even veteran warrior Joe Higgins looked a bit fatigued as he stationed himself outside Arnotts on Henry Street in Dublin for a canvass yesterday, alongside fellow Socialist Party soldiers, MEP Paul Murphy and councillors Ruth Coppinger and Matt Waine.
