'ANYONE else for the last of the Choc Ices?" snorted Brian as he surveyed the rows of roaring Blueshirts across the chamber.

Eh? What did he mean? Was he paying some sort of postmodern homage to Christy Moore by quoting lyrics from 'Lisdoonvarna', or did the melee put him in mind of a local hurling match at Clara GAA where such frozen treats are routinely hawked to the crowd?

But then the Taoiseach did find himself in the rather unusual position of being on the back foot during Leaders' Questions. And for a change he'd been put there, not by a barrage of criticism from Eamon Gilmore, but from Enda Kenny.
