Lise Hand: Debate kicks into life as Vincent takes gloves off

Vincent came roaring out of the traps and got his blows in early, even as the opening credits rolled on the seven quaking candidates.

Martin McGuinness was described as "the best friend of Nelson Mandela's and who's been in the Oval Office more times than Monica Lewinsky". Mary Davis has "performed on more boards than Michael Flatley", Michael D would be the "first poet in the Aras to have written a poem about his favourite donkey", and David Norris was late "because he was writing more letters".

Uh-oh. There wasn't going to be any Queensbury Rules in Dublin 12 -- not with Vincent doing his 'Weakest Link' shtick.
