Leno should stick to disrespecting his own country's leaders
It is a sad state of affairs that Irish people who heard the American TV host's jibe think that it is funny, writes Louis Jacob
IHAVE to admit to going through all the different stages of shock when I saw Jay Leno's little jibe directed at our "Prime Minister", Brian Cowen, last week.
Somebody sent me the YouTube video on Facebook. There it was. Jay Leno, a wise-talking half-ass from American television, openly mocking the leader of the Republic of Ireland in that kind of Fawlty Towers lightly sprinkled with racism-style humour you thought was confined to the archives of BBC comedy.
He finished the joke by labelling our Taoiseach "a drunken moron".
