Finishing up fifth year, the topic of conversation was our sixth-year holiday; exams were certainly not our priority. We formed a committee to make sure all the options were well covered.

Rumour had it Ayia Napa was the place to be in 2001, but we loved the Clongowes crew at the time and were eager to wait and see where they were off to.

Hersonissos in Crete was the final decision. A few of the parents were not happy with the idea, never mind the location, so they got involved in the accommodation. This worked out in our favour as the apartments were actually quite decent.
