We are just 12 days short of the first anniversary of the general election and the logical thing to do would be to have another one. The 'new politics' experiment hasn't worked. The dysfunctional handling of the Sgt Maurice McCabe case is just the latest proof of that.

The Government is promising to deliver us 'the truth' and perhaps even 'justice' - but they can't even agree among themselves on who said what to whom and when. These are the people entrusted with running the country and they can't even run a Cabinet meeting.

In a normal democracy, a minority government would have been toppled by now.
