A SCEPTICAL education sector may, at last, have to cave in and give bonus points for maths -- but it won't do so quietly.
At first glance, bonus points seem such an obvious winner, people may wonder why it hasn't been done sooner.
A good academic was once defined as a person who could think up 10 obstacles to every solution and, over the years, they have thrown up plenty of reasons to oppose what appears to many as an entirely sensible idea.
