James Downey: Find 'plan B' on this pact or we'll live in debt forever
AMID all the fuss about Enda Kenny's "mad spending" remarks in Davos, something more relevant was almost entirely ignored. It can't be ignored any longer.
At the same Davos event, the Taoiseach insisted that we are determined to pay our debts. Since then, he has repeated his declaration. Earlier, Michael Noonan had said the same thing. Eamon Gilmore has said it too. Evidently Mr Kenny's inner cabinet wants the message conveyed to both a domestic and an international audience.
But the message is complete nonsense.
