FIANNA Fail up four percentage points, Fine Gael down two. These are the two main findings in the latest Red C opinion poll in the 'Sunday Business Post'. Do they mark a trend? If so, why?

To attempt an answer it is first necessary to remember that the "margin of error" in this, as in other major surveys, is plus or minus 3pc.
