DAIL deputies tottered away from Leinster House this week in a state of exhaustion. Nothing to do with the weather. They were exhausted from overwork.
You might find that hard to believe. Backbenchers notoriously get very little done in the national parliament. Notoriously, too, they spend a lot of time acting out their "messenger boy" role in their constituencies.
But this does not mean that they lack occupation while in Leinster House. On the contrary.
