In this online age, even finding romance has turned into a transaction
Feminism is finished. Or so the popularity of the new app that finds attractive partners for men willing to offer "bribes" would suggest. Never mind equality, the sisterhood just wants to marry a millionaire.
The innovative app called Carrot Dating comes with the taglines "Bribe your way to a first date!" or "Buy me shoes and jewels and dinner and chocolate and I'll be your girlfriend!" and is the brainchild of Brandon Wade, who is also behind whatsyourprice.com – which allows users to bid on dates – and Seeking Arrangements. The latter is a dating site for people looking for "mutually beneficial" relationships based on the exchange of, well, hard cash.
Wade's promotional emails read: "Give a dog a bone, and it will obey. Give a woman a present and she'll...(sic)." How classy. He goes on: "Women have all the power in the online dating world, they receive countless messages from suitors, while men struggle for even a single reply. But by 'dangling' the right 'carrot' in front of beautiful girls, suitors can convince anyone to say 'yes' to a first date."
