GETTING a straight answer from Batt O'Keeffe is no easy thing. As befits a true son of Millstreet, the new Minister for Enterprise has about half a dozen ways of saying as little as possible.
To be kind to him, maybe that's the art of modern politics. And the way things are, all we can do is wish him well and beseech him to seek inspiration from Sean Lemass.
But one thing is certain: there is no sign of a TK Whitaker in the Department of Finance right now.
