'FLOWERY' O'Connor: That's what they called Claremorris man John O'Connor when he first turned his hand to the business of property development 20 years ago.
O'Connor, for his part, is said to have shrugged off the moniker; he had, after all, been the proprietor of a florist's shop in Dublin's Westbury Mall prior to his arrival into the world of bricks and mortar.
But even with such a curious calling card, it's arguable whether anyone outside of Ireland's cliquish community of builders, contractors and developers would have ever heard of the serial property investor John 'Flowery' O'Connor, were it not for a brief interlude earlier this year in which he came to the attention of Mr Justice Peter Kelly in the Commercial Court.
