YOU have to be a fortysomething to remember it, but up until the early Eighties, many Irish parents would bounce their children on their knees while singing an old song titled, "Are ye right there, Michael, are ye right?"
And, although they've probably never heard of it, for the younger generation now shackled with unemployment, and emigration and trapped by negative equity and stamp duty, that song could be an anthem of liberation.
More than any other sectors of our economy, the State and semi-state sector wrecked economic stability by failing to regulate banking, control building land, control public spending and ensure light and efficient taxation.
