Head shops can't be blamed for all our ills

People have always sought shortcuts to oblivion, and they always will, says Eilis O'Hanlon

Head shops have certainly been good box office in recent months. Thanks to the campaign of public outrage against the selling of legal highs, every skanger in the country now has a ready-made excuse when caught with his thieving hand in a passing victim's handbag.

Because, of course, the vicious little tykes were paragons of lawful virtue before the head shops moved in, diligently doing their homework and helping Mammy wash the dishes.
