Hardly a pause in listing our flaws
While the British Chancellor was gracious when offering us cash, others have been quicker to condemn us. Sometimes they may be right, says Carol Hunt
PERHAPS if it had been the Telegraph, or even the Daily Mail, we wouldn't have been so affronted. But dear me, the liberal, right-on, ultra-PC Guardian? Telling us what "bad" and "uncivilised" neighbours we were? What next?
Well, next was the London Independent -- with a piece that accused us of being smug and anti-Semitic, and describing Irish nationalism as being "about as radical as Islam".
Both pieces mentioned above were written last week by British journalists, and both were variously denounced, ridiculed and denied by Irish readers of all political hues.
